A bicycle to go shopping with…
Posted by Stijn | Filed under abroad, design
Meet the Ville, a foldable bicycle that can easily be transformed into a shopping cart. It’s designed by Hyuk Jae Chang, who won the bronze medal with it at the IDEA Design Awards. The idea is simple. You ride to the shop, fold the bike and do your groceries with it. Unfold the bike when you finished shopping and of you go!

Baubike

Take the basic shape of a square and you get this. Danish designer Michael Ubbesen Jakobsen took a real good look at some Bauhaus designs and created a wonderful bike. Maybe not very handy for your day-to-day bikerides, but it’s a piece of art and worth mentioning.

Fendi Abici Amante Donna
Posted by Stefan | Filed under design, fashion
The new cool thing to do as a fashion designer is to design your own designer bike – that’s a lot of design in one sentence, isn’t it. Brands like G-star and Puma have done it before, but these days the high brow designers are doing it.
Following in the wheel tracks of Chanel ($13595), Fendi has asked Karl Lagerfeld to design the Abi Amante Donna. It comes in two versions. One with leather accessories like a GPS-bag and a pannier ($5900) and one with fur ($9500) – and honestly, that just takes the fun out of riding a bike if you ask me.
