Spring fashion

Spring is just around the corner – it is, really! – and you can bet your well shaped ass that there will be plenty of fashion brands and stores using the bicycle to promote their spring and summer collections.

Here are two examples we just happened to run into lately. Notice how panoramic images seem to be the new black.

Oh! my bike – Longchamp fall 2012

We’ve seen it before and it’s not really all that anymore: fashion brands that incorporate bicycles in their campaign. But Paris based Longchamp has caught our attention.

They’ve come up with a 2012-2013 fall and winter campaign called ‘Oh! my bike’ that is being launched on September 6th and are trying to create a buzz about it on Facebook. We are curious, so they’ve succeeded so far.

In the meantime, here are the photographs of the campaign, starring Coco Rocha and Emily Didonato and shot by Max Vadukul. I’m sure you’ve seen them in your favourite fashion magazine.

Antwerpen! Models wanted!

Absolutely sweet example:

Absolutely ridiculous example – Armani people, what were you thinking?

“Tired” of the same old belts

No pants will be cool without a unique piece to hold them. An Italian company has found an attractive, green and cyclechic way to make belts and we must say they’ve done a great job. The “Jiro” belt is made from innertubes and recycled tires. The durable rubber belts are found in various colours and sizes and cost about €30.

California Cycle Chic

As you know Cycle Chic is a global movement that was started in Copenhagen. Today there are numerous Cycle Chic blogs all over the world – some of which you can find on our blog roll on the right side.

One blog that we have been enjoying a lot lately is Bike By The Sea, a Santa Barbara, California based blog run by the amazing Christa Clark Jones.

Christa, always riding super elegant as you can see in the photo below, has been taking her love for cycling and passion for sustainable urban design and livable cities to a level beyond blogging. She has been the perfect lady bicycle advocate in media and society. And she is also a leading factor in organising and participating in all kinds of bicycle promoting events.

This month is CycleMAYnia, Santa Barbara’s month-long bicycle celebration. And it kicks off today in absolute style with Santa Barbara Cycle Chic, a bicycle fashion show featuring local fashion designers and bicycle companies.

Guess who’s organising, amongst others? Yep, Christa.

Check out the fashionable flyer as well.

Looks like California really has a taste for cycle chic fashion shows, cause via Copenhagen Cycle Chic we just learned that Sacramento Cycle Chic is having one of their own on May 8th. The two stunning ladies on the flyer are organising.
