Berlin

For obvious reasons.
It’s been a while since I visited Berlin. It was 2007. I remember Berlin as a very colourful, open and creative city on the one hand, but also hard and raw on the other. A combination that created an electric atmosphere. This city was the centre for designers, artists, musicians, photographers… And you could feel it in the air.
Another thing I noticed is that Berlin was a city where it was cool – and I mean really cool – to ride a bike. Cycle chic was actually the furthest thing on my mind back then. But turns out I did snap a couple of cycle-related photos, looking through the archives. Though mind you, my photography sucked big monkeyballs back then as well.

This last shot is how I’ll remember Berlin untill I return – and I will return. Sunday morning, a spontaneous rave under a bridge. Boys and girls and kids and dogs passing by invited to join in and party. Some came by bike, rolling a sort of taped together soundsystem behind them.
