This weekend bound to be the busiest before Christmas. Everyone is searching for the ultimate Christmas gift. A big bag to put all those presents away can be very handy, like the one this girl has. Others may need something bigger, a cargo bike might do the trick.

Just moments after we posted about how good it feels to find cool photo’s and groovy stuff in our mailbox, guess what? We got another mail! This time from Helga. She and mister Michiel run the ecological and fair trade webshop GOEDvandoen.

What we really digg about Helga and Michiel, is that one of the shipment options is a cargobike. If you live within 6km of the business, they will deliver your shopping goods at your door for only one euro.

Now how about that, hm?

Brussels

A while ago we were contacted by The Bulletin, the acclaimed monthly magazine for Eurocrats, expats, non-Belgian, English-speaking residents. They were doing a feature on bicycles in Brussels and wanted to hear our point of view on the issue. We gladly obliged.

Then, we got another mail from the lovely reporter, if we would be interested in taking some photo’s for the article, since – and we quote – ‘going through the photo’s on our blog made her want to go out and ride her bike’. Needless to say we were absolutely charmed, and off we went to shoot some cycle chic in Brussels.

The issue will be out on August 26th, so go out and get it. We’ll blog more about it soon enough.

In the meantime, here’s one of the shots that didn’t make the editorial cut, but that we like anyway. Simply because shopping flowers by bicycles is always chic.

A bicycle to go shopping with…

Meet the Ville, a foldable bicycle that can easily be transformed into a shopping cart. It’s designed by Hyuk Jae Chang, who won the bronze medal with it at the IDEA Design Awards. The idea is simple. You ride to the shop, fold the bike and do your groceries with it. Unfold the bike when you finished shopping and of you go!
